Instructions for Shipping

The libreros should ship their books (books only) door to door via courier to the Hilton. Since books do not attract duty, this will be a smooth transaction and Hilton will not be asked by the courier service to pay any local charges upon receipt of the shipment. You are also advised to put a zero or low value on the items, to mark as samples, and to indicate that the items are to be Returned to Origin , so as to avoid any delays at Customs.
However, the libreros must not include anything else in the shipment (for example, not even any form of advertising material) since the extra items may attract customs duty and complications will arise. In addition to duty being levied, the courier’s representative here in Trinidad may well impose a local facilitation charge for payment by the recipient (i.e. the Hilton).
If any of the libreros intend to include in the shipment material other than books, then in filling out the Airway Bill for the courier service, they should indicate that any duties and taxes should be billed to the Shipper; but in this case the librero must have an account with the courier company.
